Funmilayo is a Chief Lecturer at Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, Nigeria. She holds MSc and PhD degrees in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management and is a member of several professional bodies, including as immediate past and first female president of the Society for Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Mitigation. Funmilayo has secured and managed projects funded by the World Bank, UNESCO and the Ford Foundation and has authored over 50 publications. Funmilayo is also actively involved in the international TVET community. She is chair of the African Foundation for Quality e-Learning for TVET (AFQueT) based in Kenya, coordinator of the Yaba College UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre, a UNESCO UNEVOC Greening TVET Ambassador, a consultant to the Commonwealth of Learning, and an alumna of the UNEVOC TVET Leadership Programme in Germany and the Leaders in TVET programme in Singapore. In addition to her research and teaching, Funmilayo is actively involved in training and mentoring the next generation. She is an AuthorAID Steward, an experienced facilitator of INASP’s online courses in research writing, and coordinator of an AuthorAID Journal Club.
